How healthy is the Kettle river or What is a healthy river?

I would like to learn what indicates a healthy river and what indicates an unhealthy river. I think this is a good starting place for me and my children to learn about our home here in the beautiful Kettle valley. I will expand on this blog as I learn more. Please feel free to help educate.
